Parkes Castle is the 17th century’s castle. The interior of the castle has recently been restored using the old methods of fine workmanship in Irish oak. Parkes Castle is located 4 miles NW of Dromahaire on the Sligo road (R286) beside Lough Gill. Facilities like Tea room, exhibitions and audio-visual shop available. Admission fee charged.

  1. You have spelt the name of the castle incorrectly. It is Parke’s Castle and it was built by Captain Robert Parke. (For use of the apostrophe, which indicates the genitive or possessive case, please read “Eats Shoots and Leaves”

    we used to live just across the road, the wooden house behind Bobby Johnes from the Sligo Tourist Office.
    we would like to spend the summer there: is the house still to let, would you know…?
